IJSSS maintains a strict policy against plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabrication, falsification and other forms of academic misconduct. Submitted manuscripts may be checked using plagiarism / similarity-detection software.
Similarity below 15% may normally be considered acceptable after excluding references, bibliography, quotations and common or technical phrases. The percentage is not the sole basis for an editorial decision; problematic matching passages may require revision or investigation even when the overall percentage is low.
Unacceptable Practices
- Copying text, data, tables or figures without appropriate citation.
- Presenting another person's ideas or work as one's own.
- Uncited or improperly cited paraphrasing.
- Duplicate or redundant publication.
- Self-plagiarism.
- Fabrication or falsification of data.
- Manipulation of figures, images or results.
- Citation manipulation or other forms of publication misconduct.
Where misconduct is suspected, the journal may request explanations and supporting documentation and may take appropriate editorial action.
